1. Arambol Beach and Lake
Now just because Goa has more to offer than beaches, it doesn’t mean we won’t mention some of the top beaches with amazing fun activities around.

One such spot is Arambol Beach. In the early 90s parties and loud music were banned in Goa and Arambol was the spot for foreigners to party underground.
Arambol is situated in the extreme North of Goa and it was a very remote place at that time making it the perfect place to host parties without getting into trouble with the local police.
Today Arambol is no longer a secret place but it still has a lot of hippie culture attached to it.
Arambol Beach is filled with shacks where you can eat, relax and enjoy the incredible view of the ocean.
The main for the fame of Arambol Beach is Sweetwater Lake. It is a 20-minute walk from the beach.
This lake is a perfect place to get into the water as it is not too deep making it the perfect place to swim even if you don’t know how to swim.

2. Baga Beach

3. Anjuna Beach

4. Basilica of Bom Jesus

5. Panjim Church
Immaculate Conception “Church of Our Lady” also called the Panjim church is one of the most popular churches in Goa.

Known to house the second largest church bells in Goa, the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception was built in Portuguese Baroque style.
No doubt this church is very beautiful but the main reason for its popularity is because of the influence of the Hindi film industry. This church is featured in a lot of movies.
It was originally a small Chapel where people gathered for prayers. Later, in the 1600s, when the Portuguese were expanding their religion, it was converted to a church. It is one of the must-visit locations in Goa.

6. Church Of St. Augustine
The Church of Saint Augustine was the biggest church in Goa during Portuguese times. But it was demolished and today only remains can be found here.
Located near the Nunnery of Santa Monica in Old Goa, there now only stands a solo tower called the St. Augustine Tower out of the four original towers that once formed the Church Of St.
Augustine. Although most of the churches are in ruins, they are still worth visiting if you are someone who loves to dig into history and architecture.

7. Reis Magos Fort
Reis Magos is the oldest Fort in Goa. It was built in 1551 on the narrow stretch of Mandavi River by the Portuguese.

The fort was used by the Portuguese to defend their territory against the Marathas. During India’s freedom struggle, the fort was used as a prison to lock down the freedom fighters.
Even though Reis Magos Fort was such an important part of Goa’s History it was completely abandoned in 1993. But thanks to Helen Hamlyn Trust, a UK-based trust which funded the restoration of the fort in 2008.

8. Fort Aguada
Aguada Fort is a well-preserved fort overlooking the Arabian Sea, originally constructed in 1612 by the Portuguese to guard against the Dutch, the fort is divided into two parts upper Agauda Fort and the lower Agauda Fort.

The lower Fort was used as a safe port for Portuguese ships while the upper Fort was built as a vantage point and also to serve as a watering station for the ships.
The word Aguada means “Watering Place” in Portuguese. This fort had a freshwater spring that was used to supply water to the ships.
The Lighthouse at the fort is one of the oldest in India and it was operational until 1976. Next to the fort is the new Lighthouse that you can visit as well.
The best part about the new Lighthouse is that you can climb all the way to the top and once you are on the top you can enjoy the 360-degree panoramic view.

9. Arvalem Falls
Goa is not just about beaches, churches or Fort. Goa is filled with some of the prettiest waterfalls in India among which Arvalem Waterfalls also known as Harvalem Falls is a top choice.
Arvalem Waterfalls is located in Sanquelim, about 30km away from the Panjim Kadamba bus stand. It is one of the must-visit places if you are visiting Goa during monsoon or just after the monsoon.
Don’t miss the Rudreshwar Temple located next to this waterfall. You can also visit Harvalem caves for an off-beat experience.

10. Dudhsagar Falls
Probably the most iconic and one of India’s tallest waterfalls, the Dudhsagar Falls is located inside the Mollem National Park.
It is located a bit far away from Goa towards the Goa-Karnataka. The name Dudh Sagar literally translates as “Sea of Milk”, it is called the Dudh Sagar because the 310-metre-tall waterfall resembles a heavy rush of milk flowing effortlessly down the hill.
The Dudhsagar Falls should be visited during the monsoon when it is in full flow and the surrounding deciduous forests are at their verdant best so plan accordingly and experience this mesmerising beauty of Goa.
