Heritage Walk – Upper Chakkar

Explore Upper Chakkar, a renowned road shaped like the number eight, spanning 3.5 kilometers in Landour. Take a leisurely stroll along this iconic path, enveloped by majestic deodar trees, and immerse yourself in the rich British architecture dating back to the 1820s. You will also find beautiful signboards of poems and quotes all through the road that will gladden your heart. Indulge in the delightful fragrance of blossoms filling the air, sight of rare birds, or savor some yummy fare in the eateries en route.

Lal Tibba viewpoint

The Lal Tibba hill is called so for its distinctive reddish-brown terrain. It is just 1.5 km away by walk and tall Devdar trees keep you company along the way.

It is the highest point in Landour and one can have panoramic glimpses of many Himalayan peaks such as Banderpoonch, and Swargarohini with a telescope from here. The devout can pay homage to the Chardham, Yamunotri, Gangotri, and Kedarnath that are visible from here. Do visit at sunrise and sunset for the glorious views.

Specializing in treats like Strawberry Crepe and Peanut Butter Crepe, this chic place offers a nostalgic decor with window seats offering glimpses of towering Himalayan oak trees.   • Char Dukan comprises four shops, some of which have been serving customers for over 50 years. These establishments offer a delectable array of dishes including Maggi, pakoras, pasta, omelets, parathas, and tea to satiate your hunger.
  • Emils Rokeby Manor is for the ones looking for Indian and Continental cuisine in this offbeat place. Their specialty is the sticky Toffee pudding, a must-try. Immerse yourself in the rustic décor while enjoying food here.
  • Visit Anil Prakash’s store for some peanut butter and special homemade chutneys and jams.
  • Prakash Handicraft shop is famous for Garhwali handicrafts and other crafts of local artists.

Jabarkhet Nature reserve

The Jabarkhet Nature Reserves beckon both adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike for some incredible wilderness encounters. You can trek up to this reserve in just about 2-3 hours. 

Nature’s wealth is in abundance here! Landour is home to numerous wildlife forms such as leopards, porcupines, langurs, deer, vibrant birds, and numerous insects.

It was built in the 19th century in memory of the American Missionary Dr.Samuel Kelogg. Some of the highlights of this church are its neo-gothic features such as arched windows, and exquisite stonework

St. Pauls Church

St. Paul Church was built in 1840 in the Victorian Gothic style with elegant stained glass windows and towering spires. It is near Char Dukan. Lovely and quaint it is a sanctuary for tourists seeking peace and spiritual reflection

Landour Cemetery and Christian Cemetry

These cemeteries nestled among the tranquil hills of Landour are reminders of a bygone British colonial era. Visitors can wander in these pathways paying homage to soldiers, missionaries, and colonial residents in their final resting place.

By Air

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Deharadun and flights from all major cities in India ply to this airport.

By Road

The bus ride from Delhi to Mussoorie takes approximately 8 hours. Both private and government bus services operate from Mussoorie to neighboring cities. From there, you can reach Landour via private car.

By Train

The nearest railhead is Deharadun about one hour away from Mussoorie.

The best time to visit
