Pune: Stage 3 of the Pune Grand Tour 2026 delivered a high-intensity finish as Cameron Nicholas Scott produced a powerful sprint to claim the stage victory, while teammate Luke Mudgway successfully defended his overall lead and kept the prestigious Yellow Jersey.
The stage, which began in Saswad and concluded at Vidya Pratishthan, Pencil Chowk in Baramati, tested riders with fast stretches and tactical racing before ending in a dramatic bunch sprint. Scott crossed the finish line with a time of 3 hours, 4 minutes, and 13 seconds, edging out strong international competitors in the final meters.
Despite missing out on the stage win, Luke Mudgway of New Zealand continued his impressive run in the tour. His consistent performance ensured he remained at the top of the general classification, strengthening his grip on the Yellow Jersey. Mudgway also added the Green Jersey, awarded to the best sprinter, to his tally.
Other jersey winners also made their mark on Stage 3. Clement Alleno claimed the Polka Dot Jersey for King of the Mountains, Viego Tijssen secured the White Jersey as the best young rider, and Harshveer Singh Sekhon stood out among Indian cyclists by winning the Blue Jersey for the best Indian rider.
The Pune Grand Tour, part of the UCI Asia Tour (2.2 category), will conclude with Stage 4 – the Pune Pride Loop, a 95-kilometre circuit through key city landmarks including Shaniwar Wada, expected to draw large crowds and provide a fitting finale to the international cycling event.
