Kevin Costner shared some of the “special memories” he experienced this year with some of his children.
On Monday, December 2, Costner, 69, wished his Instagram followers a Happy Thanksgiving while sharing some photos of the actor spending time with six of his children. (Costner shares Annie, 40, Lily, 37, and Joe, 36, with ex Cindy Silva, son Liam, 26, with Bridget Rooney, and Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 14, with ex Christine Baumgartner.)
The first slide included a sweet picture of Costner smiling alongside Annie, Grace, Joe, Cayden and Hayes on the beach, while the second slide showed Cayden and Costner laughing together on a bed. The last two slides consisted of a clip of Annie, Joe, Cayden, Hayes and Grace at Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1 premiere and a black-and-white photo of him with Annie, Lily, Grace, Cayden and Hayes at a recent event.
Costner’s son Liam was noticeably absent from all of the photos.
“Hoping you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the people you love most,” Costner captioned the carousel of images. “At the top of my ‘grateful for’ list are the many really, really special memories I’ve gotten to make with my kids this year. Here’s to a holiday season dedicated to making more.”
Over the summer, Costner gushed about being a father to his seven children.
“They’re like shooting stars. My life is driving up and down the freeway just trying to get the children where they think they need to be … but that’s part of the job,” he told People in June, adding that his family remains the “anchor” in his life. “They know that I have this chosen work, but honestly, I’m really clear about where my responsibility absolutely lies at the end of the day.”
Recently, Costner also praised his youngest son Hayes for “delivering a beautiful performance” after casting him in Horizon: An American Saga — and explained why he chose Hayes for the role.

“I have not shoved my children into the business,” Costner explained to Today in June. “I realize there’s so many young actors that would just kill to be in this movie and I don’t want to take those parts away from them just ‘cause I can place my own children in. But this instance, it was a smaller part. I selfishly wanted him with me for the week, two weeks he was with me.”
Later that month, Hayes couldn’t help but gush about working with his dad.
“I got to spend the whole day with him every day and just see him work. … I had such a blast,” he told Entertainment Tonight, adding that it was “really cool” and “amazing” when he saw the footage. “I was just really proud of my dad. He’s been working so long. I could just only think about my dad in that moment.”
