Rohit Sharma will be eager to continue his good run of form coming from the Champions Trophy 2025 final for the Mumbai Indians as well in IPL 2025. MI will open their IPL 18 season against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 23 in Chennai in a blockbuster clash.
Rohit Sharma was retained as part of the 5 players by MI, the others being Jasprit Bumrah, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav.
Unlike last year, MI will be hoping to perform well, especially now that the franchise fans have most likely accepted Hardik Pandya as their captain after his heroics in the T20 World Cup win and Champions Trophy triumph.
Ahead of the CSK v MI clash, Rohit Sharma was seen practicing for the tie a video of which was shared on social media by MI. Keen-eyed fans noticed something about Rohit Sharma’s gloves. There was ‘SAR’ printed on the gloves.
The post also went on to ask fans to deduce its meaning. MI wrote, “SAR Any guesses Paltan?”

Fans immediately recognized the significance, with the majority believing that 'SAR' refers to Samaira, Ahaan, and Ritika. Rohit is married to Ritika, and he has two children, Ahaan and Samaira.
