AmaWaterways has officially christened its newest river cruise ship, the AmaSintra, during a ceremony held in Portugal on the Douro River. The event took place in the picturesque town of Peso da Régua, with cruise industry executives, local dignitaries, travel partners, and media in attendance.
Kristin Karst, co-founder and executive vice president of AmaWaterways, served as the ship’s godmother. During the ceremony, she emphasized the company’s commitment to immersive cultural experiences and high-end service as the AmaSintra begins its journeys through Portugal’s scenic wine country.
The AmaSintra joins AmaWaterways’ growing fleet on the Douro River, offering luxurious amenities such as spacious staterooms with balconies, gourmet dining, wellness activities, and small group excursions.
