- This New year we planned to go for a one day stay vacation at Jalsrushti Island Resort.
Why a trip to a resort in the middle of a Pandemic, you may ask… It is but for the same reason, we went there, to ease our nerves and relax!
Sometime back, our neighbors, a newly married couple, had visited there. They were quite impressed by the amenities and ambiance. Their experiences and the reviews we saw online determined our decision to visit Jalsrushti Island.
Jalshrusti is a unique and only Island resort in Pune lying very close to the Mulshi Dam. This resort is situated in the midst of the Sahayadri hills very near Pune. As we live in Pune we did not have any trouble reaching this place.
We – me, my wife and two kids, went on a weekday, so we could avail a special price. Before planning to go, it is advisable that you check out special deals and make an advance booking.
- The Only Island Resort Near Mulshi Dam, Pune
A deluxe Island resort, this place is known for its tasteful and lavish interiors. Other features include Multi-cuisine food, indoor and outdoor activities, and areas for kids to enjoy. Parking space is available in plenty.
Jalsrushti lies in the heart of nature amidst greenery with birds chirping their hearts out and air filled with the fragrance of flowers. The soft grass soothes your feet while your eyes are assuaged with a pond filled with lovely lotuses. To some tourists I met, it seemed as if this place was Paradise on earth.
There is a unique way to cross the river to reach this resort. This made a positive impression right away for us.
We found the interior big and spacious. The rooms assured privacy. No hustle-bustle here, only nature playing gentle music to ease your nerves.
My wife had some apprehensions before traveling to this place. She feared that there may be no modern facilities that our kids were so used to. But her worries were unfounded.
The resort provides all the modern amenities required to live a normal urban life but within a natural setting. These included a fully furnished room, mini-refrigerator, ironing board, wifi connection, intercom, laundry and dry cleaning facility, doctor on call, housekeeping on a daily basis. There was an option for luggage storage as well.
Other features include a restaurant inside the resort for extra meals and 24hours security.
There is a conference room too that attracts corporate.
- Serene Ambiance
While the amenities were utilities, the real USP of this resort is its rich and luxurious done interior with views of natural environs.
Big king-size rooms had huge windows with scenic views of nature around us. We had so many places to sit and enjoy the view – from inside the cottage or on the Porch and imbibe the tranquility into our being. We could enjoy the serenity of nature even from the huge bed.
We took long walks around the property in the organic garden which supplied fresh food for our meals daily. I practiced Yoga after our while my wife sat near the window reading her favorite author. The kids just played all sorts of games outside the cottage.
The swimming pool was an added attraction for kids. Kids forgot their online classes and just swam to their heart’s content in the evening.
- Bird Valley Point
The early bird gets its worm. Yes! Early morning was the perfect time to watch the myriad colored birds going about their routines – perching on branches and chirping or flying near the lake and around the resort.
A machan has been sent up in the resort, especially for bird watching. We got up early so as not to miss this early morning performance and also to watch the wonderful day opening up.
- Snooker, Table Tennis
The resort has facilities to play Snooker and Table tennis too. I am not a big fan but my wife enjoyed playing Table tennis with a few other players there. The huge snakes and ladder board painted on the floor of the activity room attracted many kids. They rolled huge boulder-sized dice and moved on the game board acting as pawns for themselves. The kids made a quite few friends and many happy memories in this area.
- Tractor ride, cycle riding, and horse riding
At an additional cost, you could go on Cycle, tractor, and horse rides here. Tractor rides bring you down to earth not to urbanity but a relaxed rural environment. The vehicle attached to the tractor took four families together around the resort on our pleasant one-day trip to this island resort.
Cycling with groups was great fun. We had a great chat with other cycling families while our kids raced ahead. Horse riding facilities gave my children a sense of adventure because they have never even seen a horse before.
- 1-day package includes lunch, hi-tea, dinner, and morning breakfast
Both vegetarian and nonvegetarian food is available and they have a nice Maharashtrian Thali for the afternoons. Hi-Tea is served by the river and you can have a look at the last views of the setting sun in the Sahayadri hills. Evenings are times for Buffets. Multi-cuisine is offered. This resort has no bars though.
- Candle dinner with live music
Some young couples were enjoying a quiet candle-lit romantic dinner by the riverside and listening to live music. Our family sat on other tables provided beside the live kitchen. Even before entering the place the smells from the kitchen made our mouths water.
- Separate Villas Jalaka and Jalpushpa
The resort has two different villas on offer for visitors.
Jalpushpa villas, the ones booked by us, are closer to the river. These villas are above ground level. They have a royal look, thanks to their big size with king-size canopy beds and large glass windows for expansive views of the river.
Jalaka villas are built closer to the pond. Our Pune neighbors had come here to enjoy their holidays for their weekend. These are built on ground level to let the sparkling views of the beautiful pond inside. These houses have a balcony as well.
We checked in on these villas too while exploring the ground in the morning. The pink lotuses inside made a pretty picture juxtaposed with the reflections of the wooden frameworks of the Jalaka Villas.
Both villas have artistic and comfort- emphasizing interiors. The trees worked as natural cooling systems to bring the beautiful weather from outside into the rooms. For booking call here and refer us.
There are different rates – prices are higher during weekends and holidays. Both types of villas have an AC with generator backup, dish connected with attached landscaped gardens. The booking rates included a provision for bath towels, hand towels, shampoo, and soap bottles, dental and shaving kits, and Bath slippers.
